The Power of IDEA State Complaints Webinar

In this webinar, Candace Cortiella and Diane Willcutts provide an in-depth overview
of the IDEA written state complaint option for resolving special education disputes.
They cover how and when to use this option effectively as well as how it differs from a
Due Process complaint. The presenters also shared information
about the IDEA State Complaint Resource Center and responded to audience questions.
About the Presenters
Candace Cortiella is director of The Advocacy Institute, a non-for-profit organization dedicated
to the development of products, projects and services that work to improve the
lives of people with disabilities.
Current projects include
the IDEA State Complaint Resource Center and IDEA Money Watch.
Diane Willcutts is director of Education Advocacy, LLC. Diane works throughout Connecticut,
helping families to navigate the special education, Section 504, and Birth to Three processes.
